Nandi County with the county capital at Kapsabet


Police have arrested a 17 year old boy after he allegedly clobbered his father, beating him with his hands, leaving him with fatal injuries.

The teenager is said to have confronted his father, Vincent, on Monday, August the 16th, in the night, accusing him of delaying his admission to secondary school.

According to a police officer’s report the confrontation escalated into a physical fight and the boy hit his father on the head with a club.  Nandi East Ofiicer Commanding Police Division, David, said the old man was taken to a county health center, Meteitei Sub-District Hospital, where he received first aid treatment to his injuries.

On Wednesday morning, Vincent the father was transferred to Kapsabet County Hospital, but he was confirmed dead on arrival.   Health officers who tended to his wounds said he had lost to much blood from the beating he had taken at the hands of his son.

The body was taken to Kapsabet Mortuary, located in Kapsabet the capital of Nandi County and a population of just under 900,000 Kenyans.  The body is being held in the custody of the Nandi hills police station as police conduct investigations and decide how to pursue matters against the son and murderer in this story.  What a sad tale all over the fact  a boy was not enrolled and paid tuition to go to the first year of high school in form one.

Fees for form one school enrollmenr in Kenya can cost $200 USD or more per year.
