Ghana Police investigated the murder of three people, where it appears like there were serial killings.
The suspect in the killings, an architect, of age 28, who goes by the name of Richard Appaih was arrested on Friday. Richard Appaih was located in Alaska, near Abesim, in his home, within Bono Region of Ghana and taken into custody on August 20, 2021.
Ghana Police Service said that the arrested suspect allegedly murdered a 12 year old and 15 year old boy, and another person who is yet to be identified.
Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the acting Inspector General of Police, commanded the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) to assist the local Bono Regional CID in the matters of solving this case and making the arrest.
According to the investigation it alleged that Appiah the architect suspect convinced the 12 year old boy, to travel from the football pitch and take him to Richard Appaih’s room and kill the boy.
As the father of the deceased boy was searching for boy in evening at about 5:40pm, at that time, someone alarmed the father of the boys whereabouts and stated that he saw his boy and Appiah, the suspect, walking away together from the soccer field.
So the father followed up and went and broke into Richard Appaih’s house and discovered human body parts in the suspect fridge and three heads. After this sickening scene the father of the 12 year old boy reported the matters to Ghana police.
The police went and saw small boy dead body in the house of Appiah stuffed in the refrigerator and placed him under arrest.
According to eyewitness accounts, local media reported, further search in the room of the alleged killer revealed human flesh and a human head in the room. The Acting Inspector General of Police, Dr. Dampare, commended the community and the police department for the swift response to the to serial killings, and also insisted that the cooperation between the police department and civil society should be deepened in the future.
